Melissa is partnered with Floyd County Public Schools and Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She volunteers by performing routine maintenance and adjustments of eyewear. She recognizes the need for elderly patients to have clean, well-maintained eyewear to prevent falls and other injuries as well as to give them their best corrected vision to enjoy reading and other hobbies. She also knows the importance of making eyewear comfortable for students to ensure they wear their glasses correctly giving them a better chance at classroom success. And even though they don’t wear glasses, Melissa doesn’t forget her furry friends! Eye Candy Optical raises money for the local Floyd County Humane Society to re-home pets and help fund spay/neuter programs.
